    **Update** and Some Fall Colors

**OCTOBER 7th UPDATE..I am recovering from pneumonia, but am getting much better. Some photos in new album are to celebrate OCTOBER--BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH, so think PINK. All new photos were taken standing inside looking out the back sliding glass door.**

This past week has NOT been one I would like to think about; however noone is immune to not getting ill. I missed this past Wed., Thurs., and Friday due to one W-I-C-K-E-D invasion from another world. LOL. Let's just put this to rest and say I have NEVER slept so much in my entire life from being sick. Also I have never had 101.6 degrees for almost a week straight. Needless to say...I am at about 50% of my perky self and will head back to work in the morning. I have kept my employers updated on my illness and believe me when I say ..they are ANXIOUS for my return. Perhaps they now realize how much of an asset I am to them . Now..on to better things....

I made a trek to the Northern most property line to see if the Fall colors had set in while I was playing "sleeping beauty". I found a few colors but in all our peak season will not be for at least a couple of weeks. This is my own opinion. However, I will share with you what I photographed. I will also share part of a poem I wrote back in 1999.

May the meloncholy of Autumn not dampen your spirits or laden you with with sadness.

Use Autumn's beautiful, blazing beauty instead to lift your soul and strengthen your resolve to lead a richer, fuller, better life.

Drink from the cup of Autumn and thank your maker for the miracle of life and it's bountiful blessings.

    Symphony Of The Sea

Being that Monday the 22nd of September begins AUTUMN..I have come to realize that I have NOT made my trek to my precious ocean, yet, this Summer. Hence, the following poem....Also, no need to think I am whining, because truthfully..I AM!! LOL. ( Perhaps within a few weeks I will make it back there.)

    The smoky breath of Poseidon,
    Billowing over wintered wings.
    Gracefully touched by ice maidens,
    Silent thoughts magically sing.

    The mother's crystalline wine,
    Flows over verdant isles.
    Glimmering like an ancient shrine,
    A mirror expanding endless miles.

A melody floats upon the tides,
    Lingering within cool sprays.
Upon creamy foam the tune rides,
    And silver notes gently raise.

    Sweetened with an aqua hue,
    The mermaid song plays on.
Secrets of the depths are viewed,
    Unlocked by the coming dawn.

A symphony soars within the light,
    Sea nymph voices floating high.
Within the sound I hear her might,
    Echoing where ocean meets sky.

The crystal opera begins to fade,
Becoming now a hymn of the sea.
Memories fall in a final cascade,
Reminding that the song shall always be.

    My Apologies To All

Let's start this entry off on a positive note. I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. We received 6 plus inches of rain from the Hurricane, hence resulting in a partially flooded basement. At least we didn't lose our home and all my family is safe from Mississippi, Georgia, Ohio, South and North Carolina. My Mother lives in SE Missouri and they had 85 mph winds and she lost power along with some roof shingles, yet again. My concern for her is the most anxiety ridden of all considering she still lives at her home and alone. I spoke with her again this morning and she was frightened, but o.k.

I haven't had time to post new entries as often as I used to due to my work schedule. When I do have a day off, it seems as though all I want to do is sleep and rest. I took some photos of the interior of the Restaurant where I am the Hostess. I am going to share them with you. It is quite unique in that it has NO real theme. LOL. It was opened in 1972 and now there are 25 around the country. A new one is to open in New Mexico this up coming year, which will make the 26th one. We have 6 in my area, one of which just opened less than a month ago. I understand they are doing great business already.

    Until next time...Keep Smiling.

Here SHE is, the USS NEW YORK, made from The WORLD TRADE CENTER!

     USS New York

It was built with 24 tons of scrap steel from the  World  Trade  Center .

It is the fifth in a new class of warship - designed for missions that include special operations against terrorists. It will carry a crew of 360 sailors and 700 combat-ready Marines to be delivered ashore by helicopters and assault craft.

Steel from the World Trade Center was melted down in a foundry ! in Amite , LA to cast the ship's bow section. When it was poured into the molds on Sept 9, 2003, 'those big rough steelworkers treated it with total reverence,' recalled Navy Capt. Kevin Wensing, who was there. 'It was a spiritual moment for everybody there.'

Junior Chavers, foundry operations manager, said that when the trade center steel first arrived, he touched it with his hand and the 'hair on my neck stood up.' 'It had a big meaning to it for all of us,' he said. 'They knocked us down. They can't keep us down. We're going to be back.'

    The ship's motto? 'Never Forget'

     GOD BLESS AMERICA !!!

    Fields Of Gold

               sunflower8piknik
A few weeks ago I visited a friend that is in charge of a local large Nursery and Tree farm. It is very unique in that ONLY wholesale clientel are able to visit and buy from the growing farm. As most of you are aware and for those that are not...I was a Landscape designer for 20+ years. hence a friendship was formed with this individual. The growing farm is only a hop, skip, and jump from my home, but when you get there..it seems like a different world altogether.  The farm is  on 125 acres of land. I have been trying to get these photos of the fields of Sunflowers posted for awhile. I have finally done so. I hope you enjoy them and I also hope that they will brighten your day.
