Wow..where does the time go? It has taken me by surprise that the end of what seems like only started yesterday....has once again come to an end. I must admit that this year has not been the best one ever. Although... I understand that what is difficult to master in one's own life should only make one STRONGER. Sometimes this just doesn't seem so. I have the tendacy to think that I am a strong individual, but again, there have been times when I doubted just how strong I can be. I suppose this happens to the majority of us at some point in his/her life. I have always been a "fighter" and because of this..I am STRONG. I am a SURVIVER in every aspect of the word. Anyhow...the end of Summer is upon us once again. Another season to have lived and learned. I did not accomplish as much as I would have liked this Summer but as you all are aware..I love to take photos. LOL. I have so many photos taken with my newest camera..that.. this in itself... makes me a happy person. Simple, perhaps, yet learning all the time. The same as life is meant to be. How did I get started on this?...LOL. I simply type my feelings at the moment and this is what has come out. Go figure. Let's just cut to the chase and say that I hope that your Summer has been a wonderful one for you.
I will begin my vacation in about two weeks. As most of you are aware McTell and I tried to keep blogger's interested in a second MSNot Supported Convention ( which King Tom started last year but passed away before getting to attend in Las Vegas ) get together in Chicago. This did not work out this year simply due to few that were interested. We will not give up. Perhaps 2008 will be the year for the 2nd one. Let's keep our fingers crossed. Any suggestions on the location from Y-O-U will always be considered. So ..let's do it again. Because of the cancellation of Chicago I had to reconsider where I would like to go for my vacation. I am from the oceanfront..therefore...the oceanfront is where I will be going. Not back to South Carolina....
Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
but to Atlantic City, New Jersey. I am very excited about it. I have never been that far North before and of course I shall share a few photos when I return!! LOL. Here is a link to the BOARDWALK .
I am blessed to have each and every one of you in my life via the Internet. Some I know more than others but I feel a "connection" to everyone that drops by here. I thank you for keeping my site going. It amazes me how much I look forward to your comments.
Have a safe and loving Labor Day Weekend. I will be returning to read my comments and may even decide to post a new entry before departing for N.J. Bye - bye Summer of 2007. May 2008 be even better than the last. Memories and new friends are blessings from above. I am looking forward to each and every day along this path of life.
Ciao for now. Much love.
~*~PJ~*~ 21 August KENNY LOGGINS**A very special THANK YOU to all who left comments on the passing of Miss Mattie. All of your support has meant a great deal to me and it also has helped me through a rough time. Again ..THANK YOU.**
Sunday evening the 19th, I went to see Kenny Loggins in concert at The Voodoo Lounge. I really wasn't all that thrilled about going but I am certainly glad I did . He is quite the artist/performer and has a voice that is absolutely mind blowing. I never knew this about him. I have heard all the number 1 hits that all of you are familiar with but when he sang "CELEBRATE ME HOME"...I was mesmerized. He hit notes that will spellbound anyone. For this particular song he brought out "The Kansas City Voices" choir. The rendition of the song was at least 15 minutes long and he came out into the audience, grabbed a chair that someone had stood up from to get a hug from him and used it to sing toward the upper balcony and to interact with his audience. It was a moment in time I shall never forget. It was so beautiful.
He also is a great storyteller. He told of some of his experiences since he started traveling and performing. Some were quite hysterical! Prior to performing "The House On Pooh Corner", he had told of one rather "scruff, huge, mean looking" biker with tattoos covering him,at Harrah's in Reno whom was sitting in the audience in the first row. Kenny said that the man NEVER showed any emotions and just sat there with his arms crossed as he performed. Half way through the show... the rather large, scruff looking gentleman looked Kenny in the eye and finally said.."When ya gonna play the bear song"?( LOL..LOL..LOL.) So of course being the lead artist in his band..he said to the man.."How about right now"? The scruff looking man smiled and said to Kenny.."ALRIGGHTTTTTTTTTT, COOOOL". I found this story very amusing. Just goes to show that everyone is young at heart. Wouldn't you say?
He also performed some new songs from his latest CD amongst all the ones we would know. He sang "Forever" acopella and then the band started playing the electric part near the end of it. Quite good, indeed. I remember that song from the late 70's to early 80's? Of course "Footloose", I'm Alright (Caddyshack Theme), DangerZone from the movie "Topgun", and many, many more including St. Elmo's fire . He did the one he cowrote with Michael McDonald and of course his duet with Stevie Nicks (Whenever I Call You Friend). All together he played for 2 1/2 hours with only about a personal two minute break to grab extra water and also change his shirt that was drenched. The concert was worth the $55 to $65 ticket price. But what makes this even better, I had comped tickets. (SMILES).
My review of Kenny Loggins is as following: if you ever get the chance to see him..you really should do so. An excellent singer, composer, and showman. This show was an all NON-SMOKING concert including the bar areas.

P.S.
I took 195 photos LOL. Will not post them all.
03 August JOURNEY of LOVE Part IIIThe past few weeks have been very stressful for Mr. PJ and myself. Numerous appointments at different medical fields of Veterinarians, Surgeons, Oncologists, and others. The outcome was all the same. Noone wanted to speculate about what kind of Cancer she has. Yesterday was the final appointment for her. Enough is enough, although until yesterday...she was doing as well as could be expected. She had stopped eating for the past two days and drinking very little water. Last evening she was in excruciating pain and the sound that came from her was that of a human child. It was absolutely pitiful. My heart was wrenching and my eyes streamed tears. Knowing I had to get up and go to work this morning, I retrieved my pillow and a blanket from the bedroom and laid on the floor beside the back glass sliding door ..where she was laying. Mr. PJ was on the other side of her. All we could do was tell her how much we loved her and stroked her beautiful, long, silky fur. Needless to say..there was very little sleep, if any at all. I got up at 3 and left for work by 4. Mr. PJ stayed home after we had discussed this. At 7: 45 A.M. while at work..I received the call I had expected..Miss Mattie passed away. I tried to focus on getting through the work day which I did; however, it was not easy and there were numerous times I had to just walk outside and let the tears flow. I made it through the day and finally home. She was laid in a wicker picnic basket that is lined with red velvet and of course it opens and closes. The pillow was a favorite washcloth that she loved to "toss" around and play with. The blanket was a favorite one she would lie on the back of the love-seat and look out the front picture window on. Two letters had been written last evening..one from "Mom" and the other one from "Dad" telling her how much she was loved and how much love she gave to us. These were placed inside the basket. We also cut some fresh Althea blooms ( lavender color ) and placed them inside all around her. She is buried in the West Garden area where she loved to sit and watch the birds and chase skinks, etc. This area is always cool..as it is the Shade Garden. There are native stone round rocks around the perimeter and a large piece of Flagstone placed on the top which will eventually get engraved.
Mattie, you were so loved. Sleep tight , My Baby, and may you finally catch that mouse that you tried to for months over-end. You may be gone from this Earth but will NEVER be gone from our hearts. We LOVE YOU!
