    Sleepy Passion Poem

                                                             SLEEPY PASSION

I awoke this morning, so languidly,
Still warm with the glow, of my Fantasy.
Of how the moonlight surrounded us,
Whilst wrapped in all our wonderous lust.

With your lips you explored hidden treasures,
Exciting in me such wonderous pleasures.
Strong gentle hands flowed over heated skin,
Knowing the turmoil that you stirred within.

And when into each others eyes we did gaze,
What each other saw, did us amaze.
Smouldering with the longing to be as one,
'til basked in the rays of the morning sun.

Oh how these visions tormented me,
With emotions I felt, but could not see.
Not wanting daylight to peer through just yet,
These feeling of wonder, not wanting to forget.

After I typed comments out on at least 5 Spaces, and then clicked "publish", I got an error message. Now this would be fine if I could have saved the entries!!! GGrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. I do not have a lot of spare time to just sit here waiting for the return of SPACES.

The newest Photo Album are photos of the Flint Hills, Kansas. Most of those photos were taken by the Artist Don Palmer.

    ART on the RANGE

    Hi All,

This entry is one that I first posted when I started blogging in February of this year. Only a few have read this, considering I did not have as many "viewers" back then. Hope you enjoy this.

Artist often paint their surroundings. French artists produce countless sketches and paintings of the historic Arc de Triomphe. In San Francisco, the picturesque Golden Gate Bridge provides non stop subject matter. In New York, it's often the entire imposing skyline. In Kansas, it's a portion of land called the "FLINT HILLS". If traveling down Interstate I-70 to the West, you pass this wonder. It is located , or so it seems, in the middle of "nowhere" .

What makes this corner of the heatland so unique? Onething  is some of the last unspoiled tallgrass prairie on the CONTINENT.Tallgrass is just what you'd picture---grass that grows to a height of 5 feet or more. And of the 400,000 square miles of tallgrass prairie that used to cover North America, only 4% remains, primarily in the FLINT HILLSaccording to the National Park service. Add in the fact that the FLINT HILLS tallgrass is on rolling hills--unique for Kansas---and you've got a picturesque landscape as well as one that's almost extinct.

How was the ecosystem preserved in the FLINT HILLS ? The rocky soil of limestone beneath made plowing nearly impossible, so the prairie wasn't lost to farming. Beyond that, it's believed that early settlers mimicked what they saw Native Americans doing-----routinely setting fire to the land to burn off the old grass and underbrush, allowing new grass growth to generate to lure bison, antelope, and deer to graze on. In fact, if no fires were set as they are annually mid to late spring, the grasslands would be overrun  with trees So the very thing  that inspires some artists ----the burning fields---is what preserves the unique wide open landscape that speaks to other painters.

Today is Sunday and there is a gentle , steady falling rain. Very, Very soothing to the soul. The sound of nature's waterfall is truly an amazing feat.

Happy Monday one and all. Make the BEST of it.

    Ciao for now.

    Back Now

Happy Wednesday and day after the Fourth to all. After driving almost 9 hours from my Mother's today, I am finally back here. It was a gorgeous day to be driving. Low humidity and temperature right at 80 to 82 degrees. Ahhhhhhhh.

Although I only had two additional days away from my normal two days off, I must say it was wonderful to visit my Mother, however, it is also great to be back. LOL. I need not go into details here. Mother's...ya gotta "love em".

I spent my time away reflecting on the past 4th's but also on what  the celebrations should truly be about. The new photo album that I will attempt to post in a bit, will be of Memorial Parks, etc. in the small town of Caruthersville, Missouri. It is located on the Mississippi River in Southeast Missouri. The Arkansas state line is only about 30 miles to the South of it. Across the River is Kentucky and just 90 miles South is Memphis, Tennessee. Caruthersville is located on the New Madrid fault Line. ( Earthquake). It used to be a thriving town but as is the case with small towns these days, the Large Corporations and etc. have really done more harm and caused all the "Mom and Pop's" businesses to fold. It is truly ashame. I tried to take photos of the area that was destroyed by the last tornado in April of this year. FEMA and other organizations have it barricaded off to the public. The destruction is enormous. Everywhere you drive are stacks of nothing but boards(splinters) where homes used to stand. Could not count all the FEMA trailers that most are living in. It was mind boggling to see. The East side of town was totally destroyed by it. The West side, as if nothing happened at all with the exception of some missing shingles and blown out windows. My Mother was blessed, I only had to get the roof reshingled and her life was spared. There was only one death reported from this 200 mph tornado that was over a mile wide. Now that in itself was/is a miracle!

Hope all had a wonderful Holiday. And my real vacation will start at the end of September with my travels to Las Vegas. So, for now it is back to w-o-r-k in the morning. Can anyone say....Yikes!....

    Ciao for now.
