30 June Eddie Shaw and the WolfpackEddie Shaw was born March 20, 1937 in Benoit, Mississippi. He grew up in Greenville. Eddie has done just about everything in the blues business. He's been a side man, singer, band leader, songwriter, arranger, producer, and a club owner. One promise that has kept him going for all these years is the promise he made to the late great HOWLIN WOLF. Before Wolf died in 1976 he urged Eddie to carry on the blues with the Wolf Gang. For the past four decades he has kept that word. With this CD ( FOUR DECADES OF EDDIE SHAW ), Eddie has songs recorded in the 70's, 80's, 90's, and into the 2000's. The Wolf Gang has changed over the years with 16 different artists playing on this CD. But what has stayed the same is EDDIE SHAW keeping a promise; keeping the memory of his mentor and friend alive.

If you read my previous pst..EDDIE SHAW was the opening act for George Thorogood & the Destroyers.
ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
~*~PJ~*~ 26 June George Thorogood ConcertI am back from my few days away and I appreciate all who stopped by to see me.
If you have never been to see George Thorogood and the Destroyers in concert, &
ever have the opportunity to do so, I highly recommend going. Oh My GOSH!!! He
was absolutely mind boggling. You must remember G.T. is 57 years YOUNG. All I
can say is "WHAT AN AWESOME CONCERT" !! He was to be playing the very next
evening in Council Bluff's, Iowa at the Voodoo Lounge there at Harrah's. Had
there been any vacancies, I would have driven there to see him again on Friday
night!!!!!!!!!!!! I truly was blown away by his performance. Way to go GEORGE! They
rocked for almost 2 1/2 hours. The graphics and the lighting were spectacular.
Unfortunately, the main floor was standing room only and I had reserved seats.
I am guessing at the number of actual seats...80 to 100? The way the Voodoo
Lounge is laid out has the main floor and directly behind that is "theatre" style
seating. By this I am referring to the rows of seats and the way they are
numbered. On both sides of the main floor are , of course, the BAR and then there
is the balcony that wraps around the entire place. Way up there...looking down.
This would be fine if you were to get there as soon as the doors opened and
planted yourself at the railing!! Otherwise, you would be tip-toeing to see over the
people that were standing in front of you all evening. At any rate, because I have
yet to fully comprehend all the different modes, etc. on my digital camera, the
photos I took look much better on the computer than in the above album. G.T. had
a white guitar and the lighting was white on him most of the time due to him
wearing all black? Oh well, I did my best and I must tell you..this is a FIRST for
the memory card to be FULL! I took over 150 photos..all within 2 1/2 hours time.
LOL...LOL...LOL..
His opening act was Eddie Shaw. What an entertainer and sax & blues musician
he and his band were. I actually bought a CD of them and had my photo taken
with Eddie, but the person whom shot it, did as good of a job as I did taking
all the G.T. photos. Geez...If Eddie is ever around where you live...go see him. You
will be pleased that you did so. He now lives in South Chicago.
I will only say a few things about the Anniversary dinner in West Des Moines...
The food was most delicious and all had a great time. There will
not be any photos, simply due to the wishes of the relatives. I must respect that.
They do not care to be plastered all over the internet. LOL. Which I do understand
and as I said...I will abide by their wishes.
Oh man, I could go on and on and on and on and on about the concert. But at
this point, I feel as if I have rambled on way to much. The BEST concert I have
attended (Rock & Roll) in many, many years. I give George and the Destroyers..
a 4 thumb's up!!!! Yes, I said 4. By the end of the concert..some were more than
likely seeing doubles. LOL..LOL..
Ciao for now.

14 June My THURSDAY Today I just wandered around the property after work and of course had my camera with me. After sitting along side of the water garden, I took a walk around my property to see new buds on flowers, how much they have grown since planted, and also just some randon shots of a few things I had not taken photos of. The beautiful terra cotta planter was a steal at a garage sell a few weeks ago. Not sure what will be planted in it , just yet. It will go along side of the newly installed small stone patio that sits to the west of the deck.Eventually I will think of something to add to it.
The veggie garden is growing like crazy!! The tomato plants are at least 6 feet tall and are bearing small fruit. Yipppeeee. The onions are already being used as well as the lettuce and spinach. The squash and cucumbers are doing nicely too.In two small planters on the newest patio edition are 2 eggplants. I believe they are of the variety called "Fairy Tale". They are blooming as the photo above shows. All in all, I am very happy with how everything is doing, thus far.One minor problem with the tomatoes...those dreaded white flies, but spray has been applied and I will continue to do so.While snapping a couple of pics of them..I was visited by a dragonfly that ..apparently ...wanted to be photographed. LOL. See photos above.
On the deck we have 2 corner fitting Rubbermaid "cabinets" to keep the cushions and other things in from getting wet. Well, this morning when I got up for work I heard rummaging out there. Flicked the deck lights on..2 HUGE, raccoons! They had managed to open them and also to eat all the stored bird peanuts and sunflower seeds that were there. GGGrrrrrrrrrr. They also turned the greenhouse inside out. Geez, what a mess. Have you ever tried to keep things away from raccoons? It is virtually impossible. Oh well. They have to eat too. LOL.
OK...I am rambling now...so will sign off wishing everyone that visits a most wonderful weekend! May your hearts be filled with love. Oh yes, to ALL Dad's out there..HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to you. Relax and enjoy yourselves.
**To my beloved Father..I miss you and LOVE you. Smile down at me.**
Ciao for now.

09 June UNDERSEA RESTAURANTNice place to go for dinner?....Check out this restaurant that is in the album. How cool is this?!?! I received this via email from a co-worker that I once worked with. It was so utterly fascinating to me that I thought..this cannot be true. Guess what? I went to SNOPE'S and by golly it is TRUE! Just type in undersea restaurant and it should pop up for you. Amazingly beautiful is an understatement. Wowwwwwww. Just click on Snopes for all information on this phenomenal dining establishment.
Now loving water as much as I do and as exciting as this was to see, I must confess that the more I thought about being underwater to dine..had me a bit frightened. On the other hand it would be something to "brag" about to everyone I encountered!! LOL..My final thought on this unusual dining experience...I would definitely go if I had the chance. Perhaps a once in a lifetime experience.
This leaves me asking each of you...if given the chance to dine here..would you?
The World's First All-glass Undersea Restaurant Opens The Maldives | 15 April marks the day that the first ever all-glass undersea restaurant in the world opens its doors for business at the Hilton Maldives Resort & Spa. It will sit five meters below the waves of the Indian Ocean, surrounded by a vibrant coral reef and encased in clear acrylic offering diners 270-degrees of panoramic underwater views. "We have used aquarium technology to put diners face-to-face with the stunning underwater environment of the Maldives", says Carsten Schieck, General Manager of Hilton Maldives Resort & Spa. "Our guests always comment on being blown away by the colour, clarity, and beauty of the underwater world in the Maldives, so it seemed the perfect idea to build a restaurant where diners can experience fine cuisine and take time to enjoy the views - without ever getting their feet wet." Created by MJ Murphy Ltd, a design consultancy based in New Zealand, Ithaa's distinctive feature is the use of curved transparent acrylic walls and roof, similar to those used in aquarium attractions. "The fact that the entire restaurant except for the floor is made of clear acrylic makes this unique in the world," continues Schieck, "We are currently planting a coral garden on the reef to add to the spectacular views of the rays, sharks and many colourful fish that live around the area. (Now click on Snopes above to read in further detail about this .) ......Bon Appetite........
**THE Music playing is an ORIGINAL Composition not published thus far, by a friend from several years back. Isn't it beautiful?**

~*~PJ~*~ 03 June What A BEAUTIFUL SUNDAY!Sunday was the perfect day to be outside and work on new flower beds, old flower beds, and well.....just to be outdoors to relieve stress. The temperatures were in the range of 78 to 80 degrees. Oh My! A slight break occasionally with passing clouds. One could not help but SMILE! There are few days I consider to be perfect. After working all week I always look forward to my days off . Some weeks I just stay indoors and do house chores. Other times, I try to be a BUM. But when the weather is absolutely gorgeous, tired or not, I have found that being outdoors with Mother Nature is a slice of heaven. It brings to me...serenity from all all that has been bothering me throughout the weeks. Thank you Mother Nature for showing me another "perfect" Sunday!
I also try to take photos while being outdoors. ( Imagine that ) LOL. The ones of my MISS MATTIE Girl turned out so good. Oh how I love that Maine Coon Baby! She has a hold of me..yep..but why not? She is the perfect companion and doesn't ALWAYS talk back to me. LOL. However, she and I have a "cat" language of our own going on(Smiles). You see, she loves the outdoors as much as I; however, she had been declawed in the front when she was adopted. Therefore, she should be an indoor cat ONLY, but mommy ( that's me ) takes her outside and watches her closely. She has been known to suddenly take off up the hill and I swear to you..that cat can fly! LOL. When I finally run up and catch her..I see a "grin" on that cute little face. LOL. She knows exactly what she is doing. This is the point when she gets taken inside and fed a few "catnip" leaves from her own little flower pot. She then is in "cat heaven" and after awhile..she snoozes..BIG time from her exercising. I posted a few of her latest photo sessions outdoors. Doesn't she look H-A-P-P-Y?
I am going to google a new annual I ran across and have never heard of before. Noone I spoke with seems to know anything about it. The Latin name of it is..Crossandra ifundibuliformis 'ORANGE MARMALADE'. It says it loves the summer heat. We shall see. I put white Petunias around it for a cascading effect. it says it will grow in mounds. so with the trailing of Petunias, I think it will look beautiful. Again, it is new to me. Time will tell whether or not it withstands the heat from the deck. Something new to look forward to.
I also posted it in the album above with a few miscellaneous shots.
My Moonflower came back this year! It only opens in the evening so I also sat outside and took a session of photos in increments as to the unfurling of this phenominal beauty. I will post these soon.
Tomorrow is going to be my day for running errands. I hope that everyone that stops by has a marvelous week ahead. Take care and remember to smile.

**I certainly hope that my music is playing for you . It's a beautiful WALTER TROUT instrumental piece.** |
