Simply Titled ...."RELAX"

It has been awhile since I updated my Blog. As most of you realize, sometimes Life is just too busy. Or in my case..busy with work and other "surprises" that hit you all at once. I need not explain these circumstances; however I am sure everyone is aware of the "surprises". It just may be TRUE that when they hit..they come in 3's. LOL.

I was sitting at my families BBQ this past Sunday and was thinking to myself..why is it that life just suddenly seems so BUSYYYYYYYYYYYY? The truth of the matter is this...Life is always busy but not always UNPLEASANTLY so. Please don't get me wrong here, there are numerous others that have it worse than I do or ever will, but when it strikes you...it hits so hard.

My Mother used to say that when things get difficult, it usually comes in three's. I reflect back to the day discussing this with her. I was very young ( teens) and at that time I thought she was just trying to make me feel better about some trivial cause of my emotions. But you know...she was right! LOL.

I wrote this some time ago and just flipping through my files, I ran across it again. I believe that now is the time to read it thoroughly, slowly, and for this "old" brain to let it sink in. Afterall, it is my words written down. Now..if only I can take my own "advice". ( Smiles ). I do hope that you enjoy it, but most importantly....try to accomplish it.

RELAX

We all are so busy that we don't take out time to relax.

To relax our mind from worries, frustrations, strife, and conflict too.

You have good intentions but your life gets busier and busier and,

Before you know it , your days are totally "gone".

We don't take out time to ourselves in the hustle and bustle of life,

Our intentions are good but finding the time is hard to do.

You have sincere and profound sense of purpose to relax,

But don't wait forever..take time out today for Y-O-U.

There are many opportunities for you to take time to relax.

What are you waiting for? Your life passes fast every day.

Make the time, take the time and make sure you take the time to RELAX.

Before you know it...the opportunity to relax will come only when you are old and gray.

KINDNESS

Today was my Birthday and I went to work as I normally do on Saturday's. It was a very busy day

with all the Weddings and Graduations at this time of year. Some of you may or may not be aware

that I now for work for a Hotel chain since putting my Landscape & Design Business on the side. An

earlier entry, I believe, explained the reasoning behind this decision to do so. It simply was felt

necessary after 20+ years of actual physical labor and such. Work went well on Friday. The GM &

Department Managers gave me a signed B'day card. I was grateful. I felt; however it was just

the "customary" cold actions of the Corporate World. Not heartfelt at all. Well, today when I was

ready to finally leave...I had a surprise that actually brought tears streaming down my face. No,

it wasn't from the "higher ups" that collect the outrageous salaries, but from the HARD

WORKING...minimum wage... Housekeeping department. As I turned around tp grab my sweater

and purse, there stands ROSA. A very sweet lady in housekeeping. In her hard-working hands was

a huge box. Most of the housekeeping department is Hispanic and speaks very little English. I visit

with them often enough to understand a "bequito" of Spanish. As tears streamed down my face, she

looked at me and said " no Paula. no tears". I smiled and hugged her and said to her that they were

tears of joy and love. She hugged me as I whispered "thank you, Rosa. " In her native language I

understood the words......" we love you, you are so nice to all of us." all the while she was smiling. I

reached for her hand and I put mine on top of hers and just looked directly in her eyes. No

words were needed to be spoken. I asked if she thought anyone would like to share the cake with

me. She said " no, Paula, you take cake home, it is for you." With a smile and tears I graciously

accepted the beautiful cake and left with my head held HIGH. As I was leaving, the Guests

Services Manager( yes she signed the card ) asked me where I got he cake. I smiled at her and

told her Housekeeping.

She was shocked....I could tell by the look on her face. Finally she replied...they have NEVER done

this for anyone outside the Hispanic workers for as long as I have been here. "Well, I replied,

perhaps everyone should spend time with them and show them kindness as well as respect." I

continued walking toward the elevators and down to my car where I sat and thanked God that I

have compassion, love, and kindness in my heart for all. *** Gracios Rosa*** for proving once

again that human kindness shown to all..is indeed more POWERFUL than any amount of money.

By the way..the cake IS DELICIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Media Player & Spaces & AN EARLY SURPRISE B'DAY Gift

** Today, Thursday, I posted the Gorgeous Arrangement of Flowers ( in albums) that was delivered to my workplace. It is beautiful and an early b'day gift. THANK YOU! **

Today after reading my comments left from prior entry...I realized that for whatever reason...my music was not playing. Could not figure that out. Thought perhaps it was just the file host. Nope. So, I clicked on the small arrow on the player itself and read "add" there was no "remove". Thought to myself.. A-D-D????, what the hell is going on here. It has already been added..over a year now.

So I added it and voila'... my media player was back and playing loud and clear. So very odd I think.

I am also having problems getting to any spaces. It takes F-O-R-E-V-E-R to upload and I have Road Runner. Again, no clue as to what is going on in Spaceland. So, if I do not drop by soon, blame it on MSN.

I do have a busy, busy week and weekend ahead. Several graduations, a long time friend that shows Blue Terriers and quite well I might add (Many, many Blue Ribbons) will be down for a dog show. They are from Iowa, so must decide what we are going to do. Plus it is someone's birthday as well!!!!

6 Inches of rain + A Wedding Reception

HI EVERYONE

Hope all has had a very good week thus far. I shall begin with last weekend. We received almost 6 inches of rain here. Thank goodness we were spared with tornadoes. However, that is a quite a bit of rain in such a short period of time. The sump pump was working overtime. I would say it was going off at least once every 3 - 4 minutes. Monday I was doing all the usual chores one does around the household. The washer and dryer are in my basement as well as the A/C - Furnace, water heater..and of course everything that can be stored there! LOL. I had errands to run outside the home so I left to get them done. One was to choose a television to send to my Mother for Mother's Day because hers was fried by lightning , also this past weekend. (In the area where she lives ( southeast) they had terrible thunderstorms/lightning). At any rate, I got back home and needed something from downstairs and lo and behold...2 - 2 1/2 inches of water rushed over my ankles as I proceeded into the basement. The sump pump had overworked!!!!!! It was D-E-A-D and therefore..flooded in a very short time. Finally got all the water out and had to go to 3 different stores to find one. I suppose mine was not the only troubled spot in the area. Finally finished cleaning up the Mess around 11 P.M. Most of you know that I get up around 3 A.M. so you can do the math. Only 4 hours, if that, of sleep. BUT...my basement was not filled with water any longer. YIPPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. Thankfully all were fine. I have lived here over 20 years and this is the first time..I ever experienced such a mess. Wow.

Saturday evening I went to a wedding reception for a co-worker. They were married in Eureka Springs, Arkansas but had the reception here . It was wonderful to see them so happy. Her first marriage..his second. So, CONGRATS to Stephanie and Carl. I will post a few photos of the ones I took above. Ahhhhh...Amore'. (Smiles),.

Working hard as usual, and looking forward to a "get away " soon, even if it is for only 3 days. I am also looking forward to the CHICAGO BLOGGERS CONVENTION ( get together) in September.
