I have contacted The Spacecraft for advice on how to change the music on my Media Player. It will NOT allow me to mute it..remove the player all together to start over..or to simply switch what's playing. So, until I /WE can figure out what to do...this is my entry!  LOL. I NEED my music. You all know how much I love my music. Hope all is well and smiling.

    A Sad Time, Once Again

A few of you are aware that I lost my Father in 1995. It was suddenly and of course, never expected at all. He had some ongoing "flu-like" symptons but the Dr's could not find the reasons for the continuous fever spikes, weight loss, and fatigue. Some weeks he would feel like himself...then suddenly..back to the hospitals for numerous tests that always turned out to be negative for any signs/clues as to his diagnosis. They would prescribe more antibiotics and apparently hoped for the "best". He never let on to me that he was seriously ill and the reason I think he did not is simple..he did NOT realize it himself. He took  all the physicians suggestions to heart and never doubted their professional knowledge for the many months of trips to and from the hospitals for all the tests.

I received a phone call from the Veteran's Hospital in Charleston, South Carolina in the early morning of April 23, 1995. My father had passed away. Apparently he was having trouble breathing and called an old family friend to accompany him ( drive) him to the hospital. The Doctor that phoned me..told me that my Father had passed away and 4:45 A.M. and the cause was not definite; however they "assumed" it was from acute pneumonia.

Dad, not a day passes that you are not in my thoughts and prayers. I know that you are in a better place and now are pain-free. To some extent this eases my losing you so suddenly and not being able to say "goodbye" and be at your bedside. To this day..this still haunts me. If only I had known how ill you really were I would have been right with you. I cannot change the past.

I am whom I am because of you. I can only be the best I can be. For this..I thank you, Father. May you rest in the arms of the Angels and swim with the dolphins.

                                                      I LOVE YOU, Dad.

The Argosy Hotel & Spa - April 2007

**SECOND ALBUM POSTED..Have a grand weekend everyone.**

As of April 2, 2007 we had a new Hotel & Spa to open in North Kansas City...actually in Riverside. Missouri. It took almost 4 years to build. If I am not mistaken, it may be a Sister Hotel to the Radisson's. I received an invitation for a free overnight stay. Since I have Monday's off as the rule..I chose Sunday April 15th for the over-nighter. The Hotel is gorgeous, but if I owned such a beauty..I would change a few things. LOL. ( Imagine that. ) I am aware they have small issues to fine point with it being a newly opened Hotel and Spa. I may also mention that it is part of the Argosy Casino that started out as a small casino boat that had to be on the river!!!! Now that boat has expanded to this beauty in the above photo albums. I took so many photos that I will post 2 albums. Wouldn't want to bore anyone. Ha-ha.

For R&R I love to pamper myself in the lap of luxury Hotels.  It is the architecture I find so habit forming as well. Bewteen the love of this style of pampering plus the obsession of needing the ocean in my life, it can get quite expensive.   LOL. Uncle Sam has taken a large HUNK of my most recent plans and has me starting to postpone a few "get aways" I would have liked to have taken sooner!  If he only knew or cared how much I needed them..he would not have been so UNKIND!    ( She sticks her tongue out at the monitor at this point. ) Well, I could have flipped him the bird instead, but I didn't.

In the first new photo album simply named Argosy Hotel and Spa, I will try to give you the visualizations of the elegance the Hotel and Spa has to offer. Of course they have numerous Meeting Rooms and such for conferences, weddings, etc. ( Will beposted as part of the photo album 2 series )The room itself was spacious for being a non-suite or jr. suite. The bathroom was quite large. I tried to capture it's vastness through my lens but you must remember I am NOT a professional photgrapher ( yet ). Now after you view the bathroom photos..do you find anything missing from a "normal" bathroom? Now please do not say toilet because I didn't take a photo of it! LOL..LOL..LOL..Again, examine the photos and leave me your thoughts as to what is NOT there.

O.K. I am tired and must get ready for the week ahead. Enjoy the photos and I hope all has a most wonderful midweek. The second album I will try to post within a day or so..let's say before the "norm" weekend for most. Ciao for now.

I have never received a refund from Uncle Sam. What gives? How can one work so hard and never get a refund check? Hmmmmmmmmmmmm..Clueless. Seems as though the more you work..the the more you pay for it. I am disgusted. Yes, indeed.

    Landscaping & Design

This entry is going to be somewhat different from my previous ones. If you have read or seen my profile, then you know that I have been in the Landscaping Design business for over 20 years. ( Yikes, where did the time go? )   This is the start of the busy season for design and installation. As soon as the weather here starts to get warmer, our phone rings more often than I care to acknowledge.  Thank goodnes for recorders!   You see, we put our business on the side due to the many years of hard physical work. The body has it's limits as to how much can be endured and for over 20 years, it has taken it's toll. We all grow older. Is inevitable. So, we have limited our workload by only working for a few of our ongoing clients. It was difficult to accept 5 years ago, but again it was necessary. These wonderful individuals have been with us for all these years and still call. Makes me proud indeed. One such client is the owner of one of the largest distributing fruit companies here in the metro Kansas City area. He , his lovely wife, and their sons have never used anyone for their landscaping needs besides us. Now that speaks for itself! So, in the latest photo album I am going to post their newest home that they have been in for almost 4 months now. The front of the home will stay pretty much as is, however; the back will be totally new.

I thought perhaps all of my "regulars" and hopefully some new comers to my place..would like to see BEFORE and AFTER photos of our work. I  have no clue as to how long this will take us due to our other jobs, but I will post the results after all is done.

As you can see by the photos, the backyard is pretty much bare. We will keep it simple and start by reseeding the lawn. From there we add the beauty to the design. And in the end, it will be a place where the owners can sit outside and enjoy their own little piece of heaven. So, sit back...and I will keep you all updated on the progress of our work.

I do hope that all of you had a blessed Easter. It was cold here and we have actually set new record lows the past 3 nights since 1946!!!!!!!!! There is one bright blessing the past two days. THE SUN WAS SHINING. Gorgeous blue skies, just extremely cold for this time of the year. Another positive note is that after tonight's low, it is to turn much warmer. Thank you Mother Nature!

Have a wonderful week and enjoy the sunshine if you are lucky enough to have it. Take care and all be well.

    Until next time........

    Upcoming Easter

As the Easter weekend is approaching us rapidly, a lot of you will be spending part of your time
driving to your destination to be with loved ones. Please, please be careful and safe. My plans are not set in concrete as of now.  Mr. PJ and I have learned that making plans prematurely..well it just doesn't work for us and our families. Everyone leads such a busy lifestyle and of course there are more relatives to visit than there are days off. So, we shall sit back and wait to hear from our Daughter whether or not they will be coming here or going elsewhere for Easter. Quite frankly,  I am hoping that they decide to just stay home and relax with their own children! That way...ALL will enjoy Easter and get some well deserved rest along the way.

As for my Mother, I will be phoning her as always on Sunday's. She lives 9 - 10 hours away and
understands that the time it takes me to drive there and back...takes more than a few days.
I LOVE YOU, MOM.  Mr. PJ's Mother and Father have both passed. I am blessed in that regard as to still having my Mom around and in fairly good health.

HAPPY EASTER to one and all.
