Happy Monday all. This entry is simply about how to overcome the "blues" that Old Man Winter may still be grasping on you. It turned bitterly cold and overcast again here this past weekend .  We were lucky enough to have free tickets to the Annual Flower, Lawn, and Garden Show. Having dealt with many of the larger Nurseries, etc. during our years of self employed Landscaping and Design...we got to see many of those people whom we do not see much these days. It is always GREAT to see individuals that you used to see daily but no longer do.

The Show this year was much smaller; however it did not take away from the beauty of Spring!!! The parking lots were full to thr point of having to park two blocks down and riding a free shuttle to the front door of the Convention Center. This was perfect due to the frigid winds and temp's. Once inside..my eyes starting lighting UP as everywhere I looked..I saw WATER, whether it was in the form of Fountains, Hotubs, Jacuzzi's or just simple streams. Man oh man..I was a Happy Gal. It is amazing how the ambience of such a show can take away those "blues".

I was with a new digital camera that our Daughter gave us. It has many features that my old one did not and also 7.2 megapixels . Wow..the things you can do with this camera. LOL. I simply used what it calls "THE SIMPLE MODE" until I can figure out all the different modes, etc. that it is equipped with. I am pleased with the outcome of the photos and can only imagine that down the road when I have taught myself all the features of it, how beautiful the pics will turn out. Wooohooooooooo, been wanting a different camera. Thank you!!! Oh by the way..it is a PANASONIC Lumix. The funny thing is..it is the same calor as my luggage and my car!!! Talk about being coordinated . Winks. The color is Merlot and so far..it is awesome.

I am going to attempt to post 2 or 3 albums of the show. I took quite a few ( imagine that). LOL. We were there for 4 hours or longer. The time quickly passed and I was actually shocked when I looked at my watch when we were getting ready to leave. Wow..where did it go??

At any rate..I do hope the photos will brighten up your MONDAY! Enjoy them as I will.

The first album will be of the Water Features...#2 will be the Flowers ..and #3 will be miscellaneous photos. ( #2 and #3 will be displayed in the next day or so.)

    Ciao for now.

    MSNot Supported Convention 2 Preliminaries

**UPDATE...According to McTell...the convention will be in Chicago this year. Now I am just waiting for the exact date. He says either late August or September. I am hoping for a date ASAP.**

                            THANKS

**First off I hope everyone has a most wonderful week**

McTell ( Bill ) and I are trying to get some ideas on where to hold the next convention. He has already mentioned Chicago. (Hence the song playing ).This is not etched in stone however. As you may or may not be aware we held the First one in Las Vegas last year at the end of September. This is still the time frame we are aiming for again this year. However; any ideas on where it is to be held is more than WELCOME. I have also asked for consideration for it to be held in Lake Tahoe, Reno, Atlantic City, Phoenix, New Orleans, Gulf Coast of Mississippi, or San Diego. The reason being...these places still have the "original" theme as the first one...Casino themed. Now this can easily be reconsidered by any suggestions we hear from all of you. I am speaking for myself at this point because BILL is very, very busy this weekend . BILL had even mentioned a Cruise or Nashville.   Now these are intriguing as well. We are hoping for somewhere that is not too
expensive , accomodation wise , so that perhaps we will have more attendees this year and we ALL can afford it. LOL..LOL..If not, we can certainly try to save for this fabulous time due to the fact it is still 7 months away. The sooner we set a destination..the sooner we can book accomodations and flights, etc. It is the first thing to decide upon and get the ball rolling!!! Weeeeeeeeeee.

So...any suggestions?   If you go to my Homepage you will see a NEW  link that leads you to BILL's for the upcoming Convention. For now, if anyone has any ideas to throw out....and wish to leave them here..in a comment...PLEASE do so!

I am looking forward to hearing from you all. FLORIDA? As you all know by now..anywhere that has Palm Trees , warm weather, beaches, etc. will always get my vote. LOL.

    Cozy Little Cottage on Lake

Happy Tuesday everyone. The weather here took a turn for the worse yesterday. What started out as rain eventually turned into sleet and then snow. The winds shifted and the temp's took a dive. Then you add the NORTH winds and you can imagine "Old Man Winter's" revenge. After it was all over with...we have 6 inches of snow on top of frozen rain. The roads were in pretty good shape during the day yesterday with nothing but the rain falling. But, man oh man, when those winds changed directions and it turned into frozen precipitation...the accidents were numerous. Why does everyone insist on going so fast and talking on damn cell phones ...in such treacherous conditions? It is beyond my comprehension. Our society today is on the"NEVER TAKE A BREAK" from work mode. I am disgusted when I observe such nonsense behavior while driving. LEAVE the freaking cell PHONES OFF once in awhile. What will happen if you do? Try it..you just may like it! Especially if you are caring such precious cargo aboard. YOUR CHILDREN for God's sake!! Get with it people. SLOW DOWN and smell the coffee.

There is this beautiful small cottage on the water front that is part of a much larger estate. I pass this beauty each and every day. I always love the look it has to offer with each of the seasons. Although I am not a fan of cold weather..this little cottage helps me to endure the long Winter here. I have posted a few photos of it that I took in the rain yesterday. They do not do it justice. Perhaps I shall try again to capture the essence of this magical place.

So, just because "Old Man Winter" has not given up yet..there is still beauty all around us. MY little cottage is such proof. (Please remember I took the photos on the side of a road in freezing rain.)

Be safe, stay warm, and for goodness sakes if you are driving..please just turn the freaking cell phone off for awhile. Enjoy the peace and try to remember what it is like before such modern technology.

    Ciao for now.

    Looking Forward To A.........

       Looking forward to a:
Less stressful upcoming week. As most of my "regular" visitors are aware, I really do not like to openly express all the troubled times I have dealing with my younger Sister as well as my Mother, not alone my own life. Well, this past weekend proved to be a "downslide" for my baby Sis. I will not get into all the details; however, I will say this, she was sober for almost 4 months and now has fallen back to the "pits of hell". Why do people think that alcohol is NOT a depressant? If I knew the answer to this then I would be ( perhaps ) a wealthier soul?  (LOL. Humor...gotta have it).

Being the anchor; yet once again, I tried to listen to her and give her my support. As we all know..there is no end to trying to "argue" a point with an anebriated individual. I listen well, but also, at some point I must respond to all the babbling. After listening to her almost 30 minutes slurring her words, crying, and feeling "sorry" for herself, I finally had to put my two cents worth in. Now whether or not she remembers is a different story. To put it mildly..if you do not care enough about yourself to get better, then do not call me again and try to lay the reasoning for the downfall on anyone other than yourself. If you have "nothing else to live for" then look around you and see that life is and can be beautiful to you once again. Alcohol dulls all the beauty in life and leaves one...feeling helpless. Do not call upon me...try to lay "guilt" on me, when I am the only one who has always been there for you...regardless of who..why...when...where! I have done without for myself ( financially) simply because I love you enough to help you get the much needed help you deserve. So, once again..You must start at the beginning..take one second at a time..that leads to minutes..then hours..then days..then months. GRASP the LOVE that is offered from me...but NEVER again...say to me..."I am going to kill myself and then hang up on me". I do not take this lightly.

OK..now I have vented to all my friends that come by. Whewwwwwwwwww...I do feel better now. Thanks for listening. Have a most awesome week ahead. look for all the beauty in life. It is difficult at times even for myself..however, it is all around you. OPEN your EYES and smile.
